PGV Wiki ground floor
Well, actually, ground floor is a big of an exaggeration. We are only beginning to set the cornerstone. There are a lot of questions about where we are headed, and I would appreciate it if we could get your thoughts here. Tom Haws 08:16, 8 December 2005 (EST)

GEDCOM articles
Hi Kevin,
Just doing my usual look over the wiki and wondering about the recent pages created about GEDCOM files.
How are we going to link them in ? phpgedview area or somewhere else??
--Laurie Lewis 12:37, 17 December 2006 (EST)
- It's still a work in progress. I'm wanting to make a GEDCOM specification where phpgedview users can get clarifications of how to properly use specific tags. For example, We can explain the difference between the baptism and christining tags (That is after someone explains the difference to me :-) ).Beakerboy 09:19, 3 January 2007 (EST)
Kevin,
Hope you had a god Christmas and New Year.Just to make sure that you do not do too much without having to go back over anything. We have a bit of information on GEDCOM in the Genealogy section.
http://wiki.phpgedview.net/en/index.php/Genealogy:Contents
Also a list of all the GEDCOM Tags are linked from there as well.
See:- http://wiki.phpgedview.net/en/index.php/Genealogy:GEDCOM_Tags
Also we need to come up with a title so that it is easy for the browser to see what section/page they are in. At this time I think that the genealogy section is the correct one as the topic while very important to phpgedview is not specific to phpgedview. So if we could name the pages :- Genealogy:(Specific Page Name) Also great to have the GEDCOM category but can you also add it to the Genealogy category. You can move these pages rather than recreating.
Last request. Top of each page can you place the header open_curly_brackets phpgedview close_curly_brackets You can see what I mean on a page displaying our navigational header.
If I can be of any other help let me know.

- Thanks. I knew about those pages and I hope what I'm working on will compliment or replace some of it. PhpGedView used GEDCOM 5.5.1, whereas the current list is GEDCOM 5.5. There are several important differences. I'll work on renaming files too.Beakerboy 06:42, 5 January 2007 (EST)
Kevin,
I can see that you have done the work to rename the pages - sorry for the previous request.
I have renamed the pages back, away from the topic area first and then the page name as it just makes the categories redundant - everything listed under the same letter. I have been thinking of this for a long time and bit the bullet last night. Thought I had better make the changes before it gets too big a job and forgot to tell you - very sorry. I have moved your pages back to just the page name and added the phpgedview header to each. I have also fixed up all the links in the pages you created.
I can see that you have put down the category name of GEDCOM which makes perfect sense.
all the best and again sorry for wasting your time.

Error message editing Installation Guide
Hi Kevin,
trying to build up a category hierarchy I noticed that article "Installation Guide" can be edited (not secured for adm ins only) but every edit or preview leads to an web server error:
Forbidden You don't have permission to access /en/index.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I only want to add this article to Category:Guide ...
Greetings
Uwe

- You'll have to talk with someone like Laurie Lewis or Tom Haws. I have no idea. I don't think I've ever edited that file.Beakerboy 09:19, 3 January 2007 (EST)
Dear Kevin, Can you advise me who could help me set up my phpGedView site. With over 25,000 names to share I can think of no better program to do it with than phpGedView. I can send details of versions and error messages if you have the time to help me. Many thanks HARRY
