Installation Guide
- REDIRECT Installation_Guide_v4.2.x
It should be noted that the current release version of phpGedView (PGV) requires you have authorized access to a database (usually MySQL or SQLite, but PGV does work with other DB's) AND that this database contains PDO drivers. All system requirements and cautions for most installations, as well as a step-by-step procedures, are explained in the detailed setup accessed from the above Installation Guide link.
To see if your database has PDO available, access your PHP info page and review the PDO drivers status. If PDO support is not enabled, you must either use an older version of PGV v4.2.1, ask that the PDO drivers be installed and enabled, or switch ISPs to one that provides these drivers to use the current release version of phpGedView.
If you need to install the older v.4.2.1 version, you may follow the installation instructions for the current version as they are identical in nature to versions greater than this (v4.2.2+), but operations do not require PDO. You can download these files from the FILES section on PGV's SourceForge.net site, http://www.phpgedview.net or directly via the following link:
