Import
Importer un gedcom est utilisé dans deux circonstances. En premier lieu pour ajouter/transférer un nouveau fichier GEDCOM ou alors pour mettre à jour un fichier GEDCOM existant avec GEDCOM qui porte le même nom. Ainsi, vous pouvez "télécharger" votre fichier GEDCOM sur votre serveur web avec un programme externe and then import your changed file back into the system.
Avant de démarrer le processus d'import vous devez créer une copie du fichier GEDCOM sur lequel vous travaillez dans le répertoire index (qui est le répertoire de destination des fichiers GEDCOM pour phpGedView). Vous devez ensuite la nouvelle version du fichier GEDCOM dans le répertoire index. Il doit être renommé EXACTEMENT comme l'ancien fichier (Attention à bien conserver les majuscules et minuscules).
Une fois que cela est fait vous pouvez ouvrir votre navigateur internet et cliquer sur le lien "import". Un écran similaire à celui qui est représenté ci-dessous sera alors affiché
In this example the fact that you are importing an already existing GEDCOM is shown to you. You will also be presented with the option to delete the data relating to this GEDCOM from your database - essentially providing you with a clearn install of that file.
You will next be presented with further options regarding the import process.
The time limit defaults to 60 seconds. This may not be long enough for large gedcom files. You may increase this time. Setting this to 0 indicates no time limit is to be used. This may hang some systems so use with caution.
When you click on "Continue" the import process will begin and an image similar to below will be displayed showing a representation of the % of the file imported and the % of the time used.
If you selected the option to import married names this will then automatically start once the gedcom file importation has been completed.
After the importation process is finished you will be given an overview of the results.
